Sail Amsterdam 2025 will take place in August 2025, right in the heart of Amsterdam. Unbelievable – it’s already the 10th edition! In 2025, we’ll also be celebrating the 750th anniversary of our capital city. The entire city will be buzzing with energy, and festivities will take place all around. And of course, just like in every previous edition, Rederij Prinsengracht will be there once again.
In addition to our classic saloon boat Avanti, we also rent out other boats. Dozens of Tall Ships and hundreds of smaller historic vessels will be open to the public for five days.
As always, the grand arrival of the Tall Ships from IJmuiden to Amsterdam will be accompanied by the Salon Boat Avanti.

What is Sail Amsterdam?
Sail Amsterdam is one of the world’s largest maritime events — a nautical spectacle that takes place every five years in Amsterdam. The event has its roots in 1975, when the very first edition was organized to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the city of Amsterdam. Since then, it has grown into a beloved tradition that attracts people from all over the world.
The highlight of Sail Amsterdam is an impressive parade of historic tall ships, modern naval vessels, and other sailing boats, which sail through the North Sea Canal into the city and dock along the quays of the IJ, a large body of water in Amsterdam. This majestic parade is usually accompanied by a variety of festivities, including fireworks, live music performances, cultural events, and activities along the waterfront.
Sail Amsterdam gives the public the unique opportunity to admire these stunning ships up close, step aboard for guided tours, and explore various exhibitions. The event is a tribute to the rich maritime history of the Netherlands and a celebration of sailing culture.
